The Rules


	1. All users must use servers that allow bots, and obey the network rules in which they reside. 2. If you use BNC (or a similar bounce process), you're only allowed ONE connection to it. It's a bounce process for you, not you and all your friends. 3. No flooding or offensive attacks. If you are attacked, you do not have the green light to return fire - just let us know and we'll help you handle it. Users found to be attack targets that cause SATEXAS to sustain DOS attacks are subject to account suspension and/or removal. 4. You are responsible for your accounts and all the actions of the processes running within them. If your friends do stupid things, it's still on you. 5. It's SATEXAS's belief that we are not your parents or guardians, nor moral or etical advisors. We have no concern over what network you reside in, or what channel your interested in. It is our belief that you have the right to free speech and we will protect you to the letter of the laws defined by the court system of the United States Government and the State Laws of Texas. HOWEVER - we do not, and will not, support an account engaged in any type of illegal activities - which is strictly FORBIDDEN. The Bottom Line: We've been around 11+ years now, and we're not just a shell provider, we're a full fledged ISP and service provider with our own backbone and a large userbase. We don't like kiddies, obnixous behavior or childish users and problem magnets. We don't take sides on issues, we simply take actions upon our users to protect ourselves and our userbase. We consider ourselves the "club med" of the Eggdrop world - a strict, mature adult-based provider that doesn't like muss and fuss and won't pout it up with it no matter the business and profit line. We reserve the right to deny service to anyone at any time.

^ 1. When do I get activated?: Your account is activated upon receipt of payment. For those of you in a hurry, credit card is much faster than postal mail.
Generally this process takes less than 8 hours, but can be delayed for overseas/foreign customers as we are REQUIRED by SATEXAS policy to VOICE contact each and every credit card member so we can do our fraud and background checks. We do this for both our protection and yours.

^ 2. Can I change my account options later?: You can update, add and remove whenever you feel the need.


^ 3. Can I pay in advance?: You can pay ahead as far as you like. Whenever you terminate service, your balance is refunded to you IMMEDIATELY. Most of our uses pre-pay in monthly packages for their convienience. All pre-payments of one year are given a 7% discount.


^ 4. How does the BONUS plan work?: The Bonus Plan states that for every customer you refer/send to SATEXAS, you receive one-free month of service up to a $25.00 value. The catch? You get credit for each referral once the user enters his second month. REMINDER : You need to make sure the user gives us your name upon his signing up so you get credit! (Or you can email us telling us he's coming)


^ 5. How do I setup my Bot?: You have 3 choices. You can use our Internal Bot, a Pre-Compiled Bot, or you can simply compile your own. To obtain the Internal Bot (v1.3.28) or a Precompiled Bot (Multi-Version), simply type Menu at the unix prompt.


^ 6. What's the version of the internal bot?: At the current time (April 2007) it's v1.3.28 with all the patches. We have an actual member of the eggdrop development team on our staff, which keeps us up to date. When the internal bot is upgraded/patched or revised, all users are immediately upgraded by simply stopping and re-starting their bots.
Due to the current surge of bot versions and some debates on quality, we have frozen revision of the Internal Bot at it's current version, and have introduced PreCompiled Bots which will allow you to choose from many different versions. Simply type menu at the SATEXAS unix prompt to obtain and learn abou these.


^ 7. How do I get into my account?: You can reach your account from ANYWHERE in the world via SSH or FTP. Both are built into Win95/98/2000/NT/XP and Vista. Please see the "ACCOUNT SETUP" button on the previous page for address and further instructions.


^ 8. Wow - multiple bot servers? Which one am I on?: Yes, we currently have 5 bot servers. They are all SATEXAS servers residing on T3 or greater backbones.
When we sign up a new account, we try to put one bot on one server, the other bot on the other server, as to give you maximum protection from any kind of server downtime due to maintenance or a simple reboot. This gives us the unique advantage of maximum protection.


^ 9. Where can I run my bot on irc?: You can put your bot on any channel on any net as long as your use APPROVED servers and your not doing anything ILLEGAL. You can find a full list of APPROVED and FORBIDDEN servers on the previous menu, here in the EGGDROP BOT section.


^ 10. Where can I find YOU on irc?: I can be found as "DaRooster" on EfNet... The nick I've been using for over 11 years now (I'm considered an "oldbie").
On the EfNet, I hang out in a channel called #satexas. Please feel free to join me there. You can find me, and plenty of other users (and some SATEXAS Staff members), in our channel. Many of us are in and out a lot, so if we don't answer quickly, be patient. We hang out and chat, and help users on our channel, but we don't live there... so please ask your question and wait a bit... popping in and out of the channel in frustration will get you nowhere. Please do not depend on trying to find me on irc when you need me the most, your odds of reaching me in a hurry are greatest by emailing me.
