To get detailed help (including examples) of any of the options you see on your screen, you can click on the blue questionmark icons.
To Toggle spam ON ('Enabled') and OFF ('Disabled'), simply click on the ENABLED/DISABLED link under 'Spam Filtering:'.
When making adjustments on this screen, the first vertical column is your options, the second column being your current settings and the third column where you can change the features or fill in new settings.
The 'Submit Changes' button at the bottom will enact your changes immediately into the system.
Under General Spam Settings, you can adjust:
- Spam Score: Spam is valued on a points system. This is set to "6" by default. A larger number (7-250) would 'loosen' your filtering where a smaller number would 'tighten' your filtering.
If you are considering turning OFF your filtering, we suggest you set this to '200' first, at least allowing us to remove the most obvious of abusive spam before just removing the filters.
- Subject Tag: This is what appears at the beginning of the SUBJECT line in mail determined to be spam. Useful in creating filters or easy identification.
- Extended Reporting: If set to 'Yes', shows you all the scoring in the BODY of your message, not just hidden in the message headers.
- Spam Folder: Folder where mail determined to be Spam is placed. Setting this to 'INBOX' will place it in your main webmail folder and if you use a POP3 client (Outlook, etc.), it will be downloaded.
If you would like to filter your mail at home, set this to 'INBOX'.
